Clash of dates is averted

The Curtis Cup has been rescheduled for a second time to avoid a clash with the Solheim Cup next year.

This year’s cancellation meant the event, in which Great Britain and Ireland’s amateur women take on the United States, was due to be played in early September 2021, but that would have overlapped with the bigger event for the professionals.

The clash at Conwy will now take place from August 26-28 next year.

“We have listened to the feedback we received about the rescheduled dates for the Curtis Cup in 2021,” said Duncan Weir, executive director of golf development and amateur championships at the R&A.
