THERepublicof Irelandwas expectedto enterphase3 of its roadmapfor the reopening of the countryon June29, bringingwith it enhancedrail servicesfrom larnr6dEireannlrishRail.
Phase2 took effectfrom June8,which includeda numberof measuresthat resultedin increasedrail demand,principallythe increasingof the travellimit from 5kmto 20km,andto anywherewithin a person's countyof residencea, ndthe openingof a rangeof retailers.
IrishRailrespondedby building up to a full weekday DARTserviceby the end of that week,and addinga limited numberof additionalweekday serviceson othersto andfrom Dublin,notablythe Northern, Athlone,Limerick,Maynooth and Kildarelines.
Phase3 will build upon phase2 with additional servicesaddedwheredemand requiresthem, particularlyon
Commuterand Intercityroutes. Bythe start of phase4 on July20 IrishRailhopes to beoperatingfull train lengths,with a full timetable reintroductionplannedfor the startof phase5 on August10. A reviewof train lengthswill be carriedout at this time based on patronagelevels.
