WESTCoastRailwayswas intending to start operation of its popular daily'Jacobite' servicesbetweenFortWilliam and Mallaigon July 17after the original Easterstart was delayedby the Covid-19 pandemic. TheCarnforth-based operatingcompanyis taking advicefrom the Scottish
Government,which on June 10 announcedit intendsto lift the restrictionson the tourism and the leisuresectoron July 17. Thiswill be confirmedon July 9. An online statementfrom WCRsaid:"Wearepreparingthe ~acobite'totaketo the railsonce more.Passengertsravelling can be assuredthat all relevant safetyprecautionswill bemet, and further detailswill be sent to travellerswell in advanee.
"Wewill contactall passengersbookedto travel priorto July17to discuss optionsfor their booking,to eitherchangeit to a laterdate or convertthe bookingto aVIP Creditvoucher,or alternatively receivea credit in full.
