Cardiff undone up front by Scottish

- ■ By RHYS THOMAS

LONDON Scottish had to recover from a lacklustre first-half to triumph in the driving Cardiff rain.

Cameron Fenton scored twice for Scottish who were able to cling on for the win despite late Blues pressure.

The visitors made their forward dominance tell in the early stages with a pushover try in the corner with hooker Fenton the beneficiary.

Blues hit back with wing James Beal dashing over from distance after some sloppy handling from the visitors.

An uncharacteristic mistake from Rhun Williams led to Fenton’s second score, in what was a carbon copy of his first in the other corner.

Fenton then went from hero-to-zero for Scottish as he saw yellow for killing the ball. And the visitors were punished again a minute later with skipper Lewis Jones taking advantage of the huge space at the back of the line-out to put the Blues in front.

Cardiff extended their lead with Aled Summerhill strolling over but Scottish hit back through Matt Marley.

Prop Ewan McQuillin took advantage of London Scottish forward dominance to burrow over for the bonus-point.

Prop Brad Thyer was sent to the sin-bin in the 65th minute, but Scottish were unable to add another score.
