Young: We’ve got a massive test next week
WASPS’ boss Dai Young has urged his side not to get too far ahead of themselves with a truer test of their capabilities still to come against Toulouse in round two.
“Let’s be mindful that we’ve got a massive game next week and we’re going to have to be a lot better,” Young said.
“There are going to be a lot more challenges and we are going to have to raise our game again. We know what’s coming.
Young also admits that the team will have to front up better than they did against Saracens last week if they are to defeat the French outfit.
He added: “The reality is that it is much more of a physical battle and we’ve got to show that we’re up for that. We’ve shown numerous times this season that in playing high energy, multi-tempo rugby, we’re more than a match for anyone.
“When the game is a little bit slower like it was against Saracens, we’ve got to find ways to win those games as well. We’ve got to get parity on the physical side of things before we play the game.”
Man of the match Joe Launchbury said: “This tournament is extremely tough and we are really happy with the way we are attacking but we need to improve our defence.
“To concede a try to a driving line-out today was disappointing and going to France you get what you can, look to defend well and have a strong set-piece.”
