Blaydon no match for Esher’s Furey

Esher ................ 71 Blaydon .......... 24

- By CHRIS REIDY

BLAYDON’S search for a league win continues as Esher scored 11 tries to record their highest score this season.

Karl Furey scored two tries in the first five minutes as Esher achieved the four-try bonus in 20 minutes.

Furey was hard in the tackle all afternoon and Esher showed more intensity than their northern counterparts who remain bottom.

Joe Brown scored a hattrick for Esher as they controlled possession and battered the Blaydon line constantly.

Tom Small gave Blaydon hope on 13 minutes finishing a kick through by Kris Bratton but two minutes later Gabriel Ibitoye finished off a 90metre team try, the third of seven first-half Esher tries.

Spencer Sutherland, Tom Yellowlees and two Brown tries had the game comfortable at half-time
