Foresters felled by Buzza cut in drubbing

REDRUTH produced a storming second-half display, running in seven tries to comprehens­ively defeat their West Country rivals.

James Moffat and Brett Rule swapped early penalties before Redruth took the lead with Jack Oulton’s try from a drive near the Cinderford line.

Both sides committed numerous errors and conceded far too many penalties in a disjointed first half, culminatin­g in Nielson Webber for Redruth and Henry Walker being sent to the sin-bin.

Redruth managed to score a second try before the break as Shaun Buzza drove over from a ruck, Rule adding the first of his three conversion­s.

The Reds took firm control of the game immediatel­y after the break scoring three tries in 15 minutes through Chris Fuca, Ashley Lawton and Alex Ducker.

Kyle Marriott and BJ Chapman worked tirelessly and successful­ly all afternoon for the Reds.

Ducker showed his skill adding a further two tries with replacemen­t scrumhalf Sam Stevens deservedly also getting on the scoresheet.

Cinderford had the final say when replacemen­t Luke McMahon squeezed in the corner for an unconverte­d try with the last play of the game but it was no more than consolatio­n for a well-beaten side.
