Hadfield proves too hot to handle
TYNEDALE’S improving fortunes on the road continued with a convincing bonus-point victory at Dore Moor.
Going in level at the break, an impressive second-half shift saw the Northumberland side run in three tries without reply to secure a third away win on the bounce.
The visitors took charge from the outset, hooker Jamie Blamire first on the scoresheet and a textbook driving maul from the lineout saw him touch down.
Henry Hadfield silenced the home support with a devastating run from 40 metres out. Shrugging off a series of tackles the centre eased under the posts, Matt Outson’s conversion making it 12-0.
Tigers hit back when Frank Wragg forced his way over and the hosts got back on level terms, Steve Walker emerging from the base of a scrum to power across, Angus Bowyer’s converting.
Outson edged Tynedale ahead with a penalty after the break before James Spencer’s fine run down the left flank allowed Jack Harrison in for a try.
Another powerful break from Hadfield saw him steam through for his second try of the afternoon and the bonus point.
To round off a dominant second-half display, Outson converted his own try in stoppage time.
