Law makers have to penalise the bullies

- IAN MILLS via email

COLIN Boag expressed concern that Callum Clark received only a three week ban for a deliberate act of foul play.

Just two weeks later Elliot Daly receives a three week ban for an error of judgement. If the law makers expect the sport to take it seriously then the judiciary needs to get its act together and make the punishment fit the crime.

In a fast game errors will always be made and players must be reminded they have a duty of care for their fellow professionals.

Foul play must receive harsher punishment otherwise every parent will be justified in preventing the children from playing rugby because officials do not properly penalise the bullies.
