Tuilagi looks set to face Munster

-

LEICESTER are expecting Manu Tuilagi to be ready to play a full match in the forthcoming European Champions’ Cup back-toback games against Munster.

Tuilagi appeared for the last 29 minutes on his first appearance at home this season following his recovery from a persistent groin injury.

And he played a forceful part in helping Leicester take tight control though the pressure produced only two penalties.

Tuilagi was among a gang of four substitutes who appeared in the 51st minute. Leicester’s director of rugby Richard Cockerill said: “It was good to have him on the field. He looks lean and sharp, happy and healthy.

“Let’s hope that continues and we can get him better where we want him to be. I’m pretty sure he’s ready to start to play a significant part.”

Cockerill also revealed hooker Tom Youngs missed out after he had caused a back spasm by changing a spare wheel on his car.

He added: “It was an untidy game, a bit of an arm wrestle to the end.”
