Foresters on fire as Yorke shines

- ■ By NIGEL WILCE

TWO tries from winger Harrison Yorke helped Cinderford to a bonuspoint victory over Barnstaple.

The home side pressed forward early on and the ball was quickly recycled to enable Yorke to score the opening try out wide, which was well converted by Liam Hemming.

A line-out steal then saw Cinderford put more pressure on their opponents and centre Rob Winchle crashed through to score an unconverted 18th-minute try.

Barnstaple had plenty of possession and territory in the second quarter but were unable to breakthrough a resolute defence and the score remained 12-0.

Hemming and Jordan Petherbridge exchanged penalties early in the second half before Harry Robinson scored a third Cinderford try on 57 minutes when he showed good skills to evade an attempted tackle and dive over near the posts.

The visitors finally unlocked their opponents when Petherbridge forced his way over from closerange to score.

Cinderford went in search of a bonus-point score straight from the restart and they got their reward when the forwards took the ball up to the Barnstaple line before moving it wide to Yorke, who did well to stretch out and place over the line for his second try.
