Juddians set pace with four-try victory

TONBRIDGE Juddians remain top of the table following a 25-11 win at home to Sutton and Epsom.

Tom Nichol, Zain Van Rensburg, Mike O'Sullivan and George Lawson were the home try scorers with Liam Prescott successful with two conversions to add to an early penalty.

Steve Munford kicked two penalties for the visitors

with Sam Hurley adding a try.

Wimbledon kept in touch following a bonus try 39-14 win at home to Guernsey.

Josh Charles claimed a hat-trick with Aaron Lowe, Tommy Moore and George Crow crossing for one each, Brian Coke hitting three conversions and a penalty. Westcombe Park also stay in the reckoning after beating Colchester 32-14 at Mill Road. Matt Wadling and Dominic Bramley were home team try-scorers, both converted by Ben Crozier. Westcombe Park got the bonus try plus a penalty and a conversion.

Hertford were 27-10 winners away at Southend Saxons through tries from Michael Allan, Michael Sargent, Jack Mann and Robert Jones with Ben Lloyd contributing two conversions and a penalty.

Chris Shields was the only try-scorer for the home side, converted by Iain Meads who also landed a penalty.

Chichester a 27-6 win away at Guildford, Freddie Hooper the only scorer for the home side with two penalties.

The result leaves Chichester just one point adrift of 11th-place Sutton and Epsom in the relegation battle, and just four behind Southend.

Westcliff edge a little further up the table after beating Dorking 41-17 at The Gables. Jim Smith ran in for two tries with Seb Reynolds, Rupert Edwards and Chris Bugman over for one each – all converted by Jack Jones, who also kicked two penalties.

In the final game of the round, Shelford were 5922 winners away at Amersham and Chiltern, although the game was held up due to a serious injury to an Amersham player.
