Swansea ........ 23 Bridgend ........ 20

- Star man Mitchell Walsh - Swansea

SWANSEA climbed off the foot of the table with a hard-fought comeback win over Bridgend, at St Helen’s.

The two clubs have been struggling at the wrong end of the table this season. But a gutsy performance from the Whites saw them come back from a 20-13 half-time deficit to take victory, thanks to a Jack Wilson penalty and Mitchell Walsh’s try.

Wilson and Joseph Scrivens exchanged penalties but Swansea put themselves in front after Phil Jones ran in to score.

Swansea then lost Will Jones and Jay Williams to the bin as the Ravens capitalised.

Ospreys youngster Tom O’Flaherty touched down and moments later Ryan Griffiths scored his fifth try in as many games to put Bridgend in a commanding position. Williams pulled a try back, but the half ended with a Scrivens penalty to make it 20-13.

The Swansea comeback started when Wilson kicked another penalty and the winning try came when Walsh bullied his way over the line as the Whites held on to win.
