Tonbridge turn the tables on Westcombe

A REAL ding-dong of a battle at Goddington Dene was settled by a try in the final minutes as Tonbridge Juddians came back from 22-20 down against Westcombe Park to win 25-22. Shaun Dixon, Anthony Hitchcock and Charlie Edwards posted tries for the home side with Frankie Neill landing two conversion­s and a penalty.

For TJ, Galbraith Lowe bagged a brace with George Lawson the other try-scorer, Liam Prescott kicking two conversion­s and two penalties. Second-placed Wimbledon edged closer following a bonus-point 59-6 win at home to Sutton and Epsom. Dylan Flashman, Roy Godfrey and Aaron Lowe stormed over for two each with Josh Bayford and Jack Revette also crossing, all converted by Bryan Croke, who also kicked a penalty.

For the visitors Steve Munford hit two penalties.

The last play of the game denied bottom-ofthe-table Amersham and Chiltern what would have been a well-deserved win as they went down 24-22 at home to Hertford.

Jonny Hughes, Andy Zair and Ollie Choules were the home try-scorers with Andy Fluker successful with a conversion and a penalty. Cameron McDonald got in on the act with one conversion.

For Hertford, Rob Jones and Mike Allen crossed for tries but it was the boot of Ben Lloyd with four penalties and a conversion that made the difference.

Chichester lost 25-18 at home to Guernsey but managed a losing bonus point which could prove crucial come the end of the season. Harry Seaman and Matt Woodhouse were tryscorers for the home side with Taff Davies kicking eight points.

Westcliffe were 10-7 winners at home to Southend Saxons, Chris Dudman and Uta Tupuola dotting down.

Guildford were 30-17 winners at home to Dorking. Guildford took the bonus point with four tries as Freddie Hooper added two conversion­s and two penalties. Mike Terelak, Matt Noble and Finn Osbourne crossed for the visitors with Noble also adding one conversion .

Shelford were 32-6 victors at Colchester with tries from Jamie Bewick (two) plus a hat-trick from Tuli Paea.
