Rhydyfelin continued their unbeaten run with a 17-9 win at Brynmawr with Luke Studley bagging a brace of tries. Penallta kept up the pressure on the top teams, scoring five tries in a comfortabl­e 31-8 win over Blaenavon. Nantyglo, however, remain rooted to the bottom of the table after a 42-19 loss to Brecon.

In East Central, Dean Thomas’ late try put

Llantwit Fadre within two points of Llanharan at 1311, but Lee Whitfield’s missed conversion meant the basement boys missed out on a point.

Rumney secured a vital 41-13 win over Heol y Cyw in the battle to avoid relegation and Treorchy beat

Porth 27-3 to cement their position at the top. In West Central, Bonymaen beat Bridgend

Athletic 21-9 to steal a march on Aberavon Quins who lost 22-12 at Builth

Wells. Kenfig Hill suffered their ninth defeat of the season, losing 13-5 at home to Maesteg Quins, with Shaun Burnell scoring the hosts’ only points.

In the third versus fourth clash, Trebanos held on to win 10-7 at home to

Maesteg with Llyr Davies touching down and Luke Griffiths’ adding five-points from the boot.

In the North, Bala defeated COBRA 42-8 away from home, while Patrick Atkinson converted his own late try for Colwyn Bay in their 18-15 win over Ruthin.

Llandudno suffered a 19-15 defeat at home to Mold.
