Leicester L ...... 32 Sheff Tigers ..17

LEICESTER Lions scored 24 unanswered secondhalf points to overcome a dogged Sheffield Tigers side in National Two North.

A bright opening salvo from the home side mustered just a penalty through Jonathan Boden before Tigers hit back to take the lead through Tom Farrell’s try, converted by Tainne Finn.

A breakaway try then increased the Tigers lead as Jamie Broadley powered over to silence the home crowd.

A well-worked move saw Jamal Hamilton’s try reduce the deficit for Lions, but just as the home side threatened to take the initiative – and with Francis TufailSmith in the sin-bin – poor defence allowed Steve Walker put the visitors 17-8 up at the break.

The Lions hit back early in the second half as an excellent Joe Newton-Taylor pick-up allowed the home side to cross, with Boden converting, before a returning Devon Constant, fresh off the bench, powered over for a try.

Constant continued to shine and he was on the end of another driving lineout to push over, with Boden converting.

Errors were creeping into the Sheffield game and an errant ball found Drew Rudkin, before Sam Benjamin rounded off an excellent second-half comeback with the try.
