Scunthorpe .... 15 Stourbridge .... 26

- ■ By STEVE WILLIAMS

JAMES Dyson’s 79thminute score could not rescue victory for Scunthorpe as Stourbridge stayed third in Two North.

The hosts counterattacked after Chris Scott missed touch with a kick to the corner, and from a lineout in Stour’s 22, Jake Baron went over in the corner from a driving maul, but Johnson missed the extras.

As Stour grew into the game, Nigel Mukarati scored after half an hour as Scunthorpe ran out of tacklers and then Luke White converted to put Stourbridge 7-5 ahead.

Five minutes later Scunthorpe responded with a try of their own as Tom Foster gave a good pass to Paul Cook who stepped inside the for an excellent try to make it 10-7 to Scunthorpe at the break.

Stourbridge came out all guns blazing after the break and within four minutes scored through full-back Luke White as he collected Scott’s clever chip.

Stourbridge continued to batter the Scunthorpe try line and after scrum resets and several penalties, Callum Sharp awarded Stourbridge a penalty try which White converted.

With Scunthorpe back in the ascendancy, Dan Rundle broke away in the 76th minute to seal victory for Stourbridge before Dyson’s late consolation.
