CAMERON Harrison scored a late try to see

Worcester claim a 27-26 win over Leicester in the Academy league last weekend.

In an exhilarating game, captain Ted Hill’s try gave Warriors the lead but Tigers replied with James Martin levelling the score midway through the first-half.

Alex Forrester then scored ten points in two minutes, kicking a penalty before converting his own try as Worcester took a commanding 17-7 lead into half-time.

Josh Fenner and Will Findlay scored quickly at the start of the second-half to put Tigers in the ascendancy but Alex Bartley crossed the line to put Warriors back in front by three points.

Tigers full-back Ryan Olonofela thought that he had snatched victory with his score seven minutes from time but it was not to be as Harrison drove over in the corner to secure the narrowest of wins for Warriors.

Warriors Academy backs development coach Gordon Ross said: “We spent long periods in our own 22 but the resilience of the boys to keep them out at times was exceptional.

“To only concede those seven points in the first-half was excellent.”

Reigate Grammar School pupil Max Coyle scored a hat-trick of tries in Harlequins’ 45-5 thumping of Bath while champions

London Irish suffered their second defeat in as many games going down to Gloucester 43-32. Exeter and Wasps left Bristol and Yorkshire Carnegie with away wins, 21-17 and 38-14 respectively, but

Sale were dominant at home, claiming a 37-15 win over Newcastle.

This week also saw some school games with the pick of the bunch being a fine 19-10 win from Sir Thomas

Rich’s at Millfield and Brighton’s 38-19 victory over Seaford College.
