Skills coach Teague gets call up for Six Nations
RORY Teague has been appointed full-time skills coach for the senior England team.
Teague takes the step up from the England U20s where he was attack and backs coach and slots straight into Eddie Jones’ backroom staff alongside Paul Gustard, Neal Hatley and Steve Borthwick ahead of the Six Nations.
He knows the England environment well having been brought into the senior coaching team for last year’s autumn internationals for two days a week.
“Rory’s come up from the 20s and he’ll be full-time with us,” Jones said. “He’s a good, young coach. He’s inquisitive, curious, wants to get better and therefore he can play a key role for us in improving the skills of the players.”
Teague played at fly-half for Gloucester and Bristol. He also played for Grenoble in France and joined the RFU after a spell working in Saracens’ academy.
He began his coaching life at Harrow where he had a role in mentoring and coaching the young Maro Itoje.
