Kvesic set to go on the attack

-

ROB BAXTER hopes to bring balance back to Matt Kvesic’s game after the Gloucester flanker’s switch to Exeter was confirmed on a three-year deal.

The 24-year-old, who began his career at Worcester, is Baxter’s first capture ahead of next season.

Baxter said: “We’ve been following Matt for a while and I’ve liked a lot of the qualities I’ve seen in him.

“Some of the qualities we saw at Worcester will be some of the ones we want to re-ignite in him that we maybe haven’t seen quite so much of at Gloucester.

“I think at Gloucester he’s become very defensively organised and defensively-biased and we’d like to see him become a bit more of an attacking player and an attacking option with us, and add a bit more balance to his game.”

“It’s a great move for me,” said Kvesic. “Over the last few years the Chiefs have shown they are one of the top teams in the country. I just felt it was the right time to have a new challenge in my career and I think moving down to the Chiefs will help re-ignite a few areas of my game. “
