Now Jason attracts attention of Gloucester
GLOUCESTER are sniffing around highly rated Bristol full-back Jason Woodward who has a getout clause if the club are relegated from the Premiership.
Woodward, 26, signed a two-year deal to join Bristol from Super Rugby outfit the Hurricanes last September.
The Kiwi qualifies for England after accepting that he had no chance of an international career with the All Blacks.
Woodward, below, did spent two years with the Melbourne Rebels flirting with the idea of playing for Australia but returned home a year before qualifying.
I understand that Gloucester are keen to sign him after losing Wales international James Hook back to the Ospreys next summer.
Sources are telling me that Woodward won’t be cheap and could cost any club interested around £350,000 a year in wages.
Meanwhile another player who won’t be at Kingsholm next season is Tongan international back rower Sione Kalamafoni who is heading to Leicester Tigers.
