Lopez focussed on ending England’s winning run

-

CAMILLE Lopez recognises England are currently riding high under Eddie Jones but the Clermont flyhalf says France are not far away themselves from turning good performances into wins.

While France have been rebuilding under Guy Noves, England did not lose a game in 2016.

However Lopez is undaunted. “You can’t be admiring a team when they’re one of your rivals,” he said. “We’re not going to start idolising them.

“What we can’t ignore however is how well they’ve been playing and that they’re winning. We too played pretty well in recent times but didn’t win.

“England have enjoyed a good run of results but we’ve got to focus on ourselves and keep working from what we’ve done in November.

“Over the next week, we’ll be looking to polish things off from what didn’t work too well against the All Blacks and the Wallabies and hopefully it’ll put us in the best position to beat England.”

Meanwhile, scrum-half Baptiste Serin, right, has revealed that he has started to work with former scrum half star Dimitri Yachvili, who kicked France to victory from the tee at HQ in 2005.

Serin said: “We first met by luck through a journalist. Since then we’re meeting up every Thursday and we work on my game on and off the pitch. “He is very thorough. I’m working hard on my goal-kicking and he’s already given me a lot of tips.”
