Lancaster to extend stay at Leinster

-

STUART LANCASTER is set to stay with PRO12 outfit Leinster for the next two years after having initial talks about a new contract.

The former England boss, left, has been working as a senior coach at Leinster since September after filling a gap left by Kurt McQuilkin.

Lancaster has been lauded for breathing new life into Leinster’s attack, with the likes of Jonny Sexton quick to credit the influence that he has had in Dublin.

And it appears that Leinster didn’t want to run the risk of someone else picking him up when his contract ran out at the end of the season.

Lancaster has become one of the hottest coaching candidates around and they would like to secure his services until 2019.

Blindside understands Lancaster’s deal will be announced as soon as the Irish Rugby Union ties down Leo Cullen to a new long term contract.
