Kingston: One little mistake was costly

-

HARLEQUINS coach John Kingston is still mystified how his side managed to leave the Rec empty handed last night.

“I am absolutely gutted given the amount of effort the guys put in,” he said. “I honestly thought we were the better side, I know we made errors but certainly for the first 6065 minutes we were the better side and to come away with nothing is really disappointing.

“We have played far worse in some games this season and found ourselves getting points.

“One little mistake in the second half was costly, they went up to our line and took their opportunity to score their try. We had built so well up to that point

“I’m immensely proud of the effort the boys put in today, they put their bodies on the line today and we didn’t get any reward. We will dust ourselves down, get back on the horse, there are seven games to go this season and all our thoughts now are Friday night at home to Leicester at the Stoop.

Bath Director of Rugby Todd Blackadder said: “To start with we just couldn’t flow, or build any pressure. We looked unsettled and were trying to force things too much.

“We talked at half-time about being more patient, we had been so disjointed but the scrum had kept us in the game, it was excellent and later on our line-out drive defence really stood up.”
