Problem areas are all fixable says Gold
ROB Baxter was delighted with an 80-minute effort from his Chiefs.
“We maintained our intensity throughout and there was a momentum change even before the yellow card.
“I was particularly pleased how we redoubled our efforts and didn’t go into our shell but I’m disappointed to have conceded so many points for the second week running (they conceded 35 points in the home draw with Wasps last Sunday).
“But Worcester were hot and played with a lot of energy in that opening quarter.”
Worcester boss Gary Gold believed Warriors had turned in a creditable performance.
“I’m disappointed with the result but I’m proud at the way the boys continued to fight and it’s a big positive to score four tries,” he said.
“We know how good Exeter are and if you make mistakes they will punish you. The yellow card and a few missed touches resulted in a domino effect with the game swiftly taken away from us.
“We need to fix a few things but they are fixable. Our restarts were poor as we kept letting them back in the game and if we had kicked a couple more goals then we may have been nine points ahead which may have given us more confidence.”
