Don’t blame us, Pichot
AGUSTIN Pichot is banging the drum that Georgia should be allowed into the Six Nations for the good of the game. Unlike Six Nations chief executive John Feehan, I have no problem with the Georgians playing off against perpetual wooden spooners Italy, and if they beat them being promoted.
However, the Argentine vice-chairman of World Rugby should beware of firing random shots at ‘Anglo-Saxon ways’ being a brake on the game’s development. The Six Nations, as an influential part of World Rugby, has voted for substantial development grants to be given to the Argentine Union, and also helped persuade reluctant Australians and New Zealanders to admit them into SANZAR.
He should also be aware that Feehan is Irish and therefore a Celt, not an Anglo-Saxon.
