Home comforts remain for Chinnor

- ■ By RICHARD JARVIS

CHINNOR maintain their season-long unbeaten record at home and kept their National One play-off place hopes alive.

Chinnor's Tom Burns broke the deadlock with a try, converted by Jonny Bentley. The Titans levelled the game when hooker Jon Gatford drove over from a lineout, Gary Kingdom converting from wide out.

When Chinnor's openside Alex Bradley was yellow carded, Taunton took advantage as Arron Gibbs crashed over.

Taunton continued to press with ball in hand and went further ahead from another catch and drive close in, Gatford again the scorer.

After early Chinnor pressure, Burns drove over again but Taunton hit back with a penalty.

Chinnor upped their game and after a Burns break in midfield, were awarded a penalty try when Nick Mason was adjudged to have deliberately knocked.

The hosts were in control and on 60 minutes a delightfully executed kick by Bentley put winger Broughton in at the corner - sealing the bonus point.

Chinnor captain Barnes then dived over in the corner after a Bentley chip and catch. And Jamie Townsend powered over for Chinnor's sixth score while Titans bagged their bonus point try via Lewis Webb.
