Gatland wrong to call up more Welsh

-

SO FOUR more Welsh players (not bad for a team that finished just above Italy in the Six Nations!) and two Scots, have been added to the Lions party because they are geographically close to New Zealand.

Apparently ability played no part in the decision and here was I thinking the Lions was the pinnacle of a rugby players career! JOHN EDWARDS Old Sodbury THE Lions should have picked 45 players to start with. But I just cannot see how Warren Gatland can justify yet more Welsh players being selected. Cory Hill instead of Johnny Grey or Joe Launchbury is just wrong, especially as Grey is in Australia. The same applies to Darcy and Francis with Ford, and Nell also on hand. DAVID SHORT via email
