LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT
1. Andrew Woodruff – Avonmouth OB RFC
Andy has been involved at Avonmouth for 35 years. As second Xl hooker and skipper he saw his side go 18 months undefeated, home and away. He has been fixture secretary for the seniors for 25 years, is involved in the selection committee and cuts lines and marks out pitches on a weekly basis.
2. Andy Ambrose – Nuneaton RFC
Andy was club captain from 1985-87 and chairman from 1992-94. He now sits as head of the development sub committee. He cuts 20 acres of land every week to improve the club’s facilities for players.
3. Doug Bridgeman – Kettering RFC
A legend at Kettering, an ex-first team captain and director of rugby, Doug has spent hours developing mini and junior rugby at the club and is now at the forefront of developing girls rugby at local schools
4. Peter Blackwood – Caithness RFC
Peter was a founding member of Caithness in 1962 and made 264 appearances. He served as vice president from 1995-99 and president from 1999-2005. He was secretary for 30 years and treasurer for almost ten. He is currently writing the club’s history.
5. David Holmes – Nottingham Rugby and Nottingham Corsairs
David has worked tirelessly for over ten years for two clubs who share the same site, one professional and one amateur. He spends hundreds of hours mowing pitches, ensuring areas are tidy, sorting issues for hundreds of players. He has also bought equipment including tractors and has aided pitch development, spreading 300 tonnes of sand on site.
6. Trevor Large – Rugby United
Rugby United is a digital communications organisation that brings rugby players and fans together across the world. It was established by Trevor in 2011 and now spans more than 60 countries, tweeting in over 24 languages.
