DREAMTEAM

- NICK SELWAY, THE JERSEY AND FORMER GLOUCESTER HOOKER, CHOOSES THE BEST XV HE HAS PLAYED WITH OR AGAINST...

1. Sam Lockwood - The first of many in this team who went from Jersey to the Premiership. Impressive scrummager with great skills and now doing well at Newcastle.

2. Marc Jones - Does the basics really well. He’s gone back to Sale this summer but I always had good battles with him at the set piece when he was at Bristol. 3. Harry Williams - Very strong and aggressive. That’s why he left us to join Exeter and I’m really pleased he got his England debut in Argentina. He did really well there too.

4. Alex Rae - A good leader who runs the lineout really well.

He’s also the only bloke who would smash me in training so I had to have him in my team.

5. Matt Challinor - Doncaster’s club captain and a real work horse who just gets on with the job in the engine room. Puts some big hits in defence and carries well.

6. Latu Makaafi - Used to play with Matt at Doncaster and always seemed to know where the try line was. He’s a bit of a loose

canon when he plays but I like that.

7. Gary Graham - He’ll play with Sam in Newcastle next season and he’ll tackle anything that comes his way. He’s a bit of a big-baller to be fair to him.

8. Nick Haining - The big Aussie can make anything happen on the pitch breaking tackles for fun. I’m sure he’ll do

really well in Bristol next season.

9. Sami Fisilau - The Tongan international is built like a back row but he’s proven during his time in Jersey that he can pass and kick with both feet.

10. Ryan Lamb - He runs a good game. He’s never afraid to have a go himself and I really like the way he attacks the gainline. 11. Ross Adair - Jersey’s Irish kid is a big joker but he’s also a very good young wing who tends to score a lot of tries. 12. Martin Roberts - He sadly passed away last year but he had a huge influence on me when I was in

the Gloucester academy. A very good player who’d run through a brick wall for the team.

13. Fautua Otto - The big Samoan always produced some magic on the field and he was always up for a drink after a game.

14. Tommy Bowe - We played against Ulster in the B&I Cup last October and he was there coming back from an injury. Such a class act and it was amazing to see how much ground he could cover.

15. Tommy Bell - He came to Jersey for a few weeks a couple of seasons ago and he always scored 15 points a game. He was brilliant for London Irish last season and I truly believe he belongs in the Premiership.
