Kings tumble to another humbling
THE Southern Kings are still searching for their first win in the PRO14 after they lost 31-3 to Benetton Treviso last night.
What will be of particular concern is the fact that the Kings were unable to score a try against one of the weaker teams in the competition.
Benetton scored four tries to register the bonus with winger Angelo Esposito starring with one in each half. No.8 Marco Barbini also scored and replacement Cherif Traore scored the bonus point try at the final whistle.
Treviso dominated territory and possession and also they also showed great defensive organisation.
The Kings looked soft in defence and static in attack, not helped by a poor setpiece.
Fly-half Marty Banks opened the scoring with three penalties before executing a well-weighted cross-kick that led to a try for Esposito. Trailing by 14 points, Pieter-Steyn de Wet slotted a penalty on the stroke of half-time for a 14-3 scoreline.
