Seven-try Park demolish Students

- ■ By JOE WALKER

ROSSLYN Park thrashed Loughborough Students to seal their first home win of the season.

A first-half red card turned the game on its head as Rosslyn Park took advantage of a sorry Students’ side.

Matthew Edwards was sent off in the first half for an illegal tackle on Andrew Henderson, and Loughborough struggled to stay in it thereafter.

Park took the lead after eight minutes through openside Harry Hudson and the home side looked set for an easy afternoon as Henderson doubled the lead after 21 minutes.

Loughborough quickly cancelled this out though, as Matthew Edwards bundled over the line three minutes later.

But as Loughborough looked to be taking foothold in the game Edwards saw red after a brutal dump tackle on Henderson.

The second half saw Loughborough score first through Samuel Lewis, after a fantastically worked up-and-under by Thomas Hardwick to bring the score to 20-14.

However, the visitors quickly tired and Park ran away with the game after 55 minutes.

Five tries were scored in the last 25 minutes with an Alfie Dudman Jones double adding to efforts from Tom VaughnEdwards, Henry Robinson and Oliver Hutson.
