Late try by Moss ensures it’s five on spin

CANTERBURY made it five victories in a row as they eased past Wimbledon, who remain winless.

Second-half tries from Charlie Kingsman and Will Farris put the Kent side into a commanding lead.

Dylan Flashman pulled one back for Wimbledon, but an Aiden Moss score at the death sealed a deserved Canterbury victory.

Wimbledon looked comfortable in an evenly-matched first half, but neither side was able to create any real try-scoring chances.

Scrum half Dan Smart looked lively for Canterbury, but it was his half back partner, Ollie Best, whose penalty after 24 minutes made it 0-3 at half time.

Wimbledon were caught cold after the break, Kingsman finishing off a nice passing move across the back line to score just four minutes into the second half and Best added the extras.

Canterbury raced into a 17-0 lead when Will Farris made the most of a favourable bounce from a kick over the top to score under the posts.

Wimbledon pulled back with a Flashman try and Doe conversion.

They perhaps could have scored again were it not for handling errors at crucial moments.

In the final play, substitute Moss came on to the ball at speed and burst through the tiring Wimbledon defence to seal the points for Canterbury.
