THE speeding up of the game seems to have made scoring four tries easier, particular­ly in the leagues below the Premiershi­p. So many teams get well beaten but still score them.

Time to do as the French have done for several years whereby the extra point is obtainable only by scoring three more tries than the opposition.

Also, twice in televised matches last weekend I saw advantage had been played for foul play (high tackle).The advantage resulted in the nonoffendi­ng team scoring a try after several phases. But surely a penalty on the half-way line should be awarded thereafter as it is still foul play and not a technical offence?
