- ■ By NICK DOYLE

SEDGLEY Park edged out Otley in a 100-point thriller to deny them a losing point.

An early Otley penalty was followed by a Paul Petchey intercept try from his own half, Joe Rowntree adding the conversion.

The Tigers responded having kicked a penalty into the corner, moving in from the line out for Ben Black to score. The home side extended their lead when Max Johnson saw a gap on the blindside, Oli Goss passing to Simon Willett who scored.

Sedgley Park scored twice through Jamie Harrison with a diagonal run and a back row explosion from their 22 with Oli Glasse going over. Otley retook the lead after good pressure across the width of the pitch Alex Beaumont going over in the corner, extending their lead with a Joe Rowntree penalty.

The Tigers retook the lead with a penalty try and went further ahead after Bob Holloway set up Callum McShane.

The Tigers extended their lead through Bob Birtwell four minutes into the second half, before Joe Graham picked up a lose ball on half way to score.

Max Johnson then harried the Tigers’s scrum, gaining a penalty which was put into the corner. A Grayson Maguire try followed through a rolling maul, and Goss set up Mike Coady. The Tigers took the game away from Otley when Harrison scored from his own 22 and Matt Riley went over.
