O’Leary handed the reins against his old club
FLY-HALF Shane O’Leary makes his first start for Ealing Trailfinders and is is relishing the trip to face his former club.
Ben Ward’s side scored 11 tries last week to kick off their campaign in fine style against Richmond and O’Leary is hoping Ealing can back that up today in Ireland.
The Canadian international fly-half made his debut in the 67-12 victory over Richmond, and is now looking to build on that performance against the Irish side.
He said: “It’s another great challenge this weekend that I’m looking forward to.
“The weather can be very challenging and it’s a tough place to go and win so we may have to change the way we play.
“But we’ll go there looking to make it two wins from two.”
Ward makes four changes to the line-up with Dan Temm and Mark Bright coming into the back row and Joe Munro lining up in the centres outside new general O’Leary.
Will Harries, James Cordy Redden and Luke Daniels start in an unchanged back-three which functioned impressively last weekend, with all three of them scoring on two occasions.
Harries said: “We’ve got to cut the mistakes and it’s a chance to take control of the pool. If we can get another win we’ll be in a strong position.”
Connacht have picked an experienced front row to negate the Ealing pack power with Denis Coulson and returning captain JP Cooney flanking Pat O’Toole.
