Could Earle take an early Bath?

-

BATH are looking to deal Saracens a huge blow and snatch one of their brightest young talents – winger Nathan Earle – away from the club at the end of the season.

The 23-year-old was a member of the England side that lifted the 2014 Under 20 World Cup when he scored six tries in five matches. Earle had a spell in the Southern Hemisphere helping Canterbury win New Zealand’s Mitre 10 Cup as he looked to complete his rugby education. He stood out playing for England against the Barbarians last season and Eddie Jones took him on the tour of Argentina. Earle, who touched down twice in last weekend’s Premiership win over London Irish, is in the last season of his contract and is yet to agree a new deal.

Bath are keeping an eye on developments with a view to speaking to him about a move to the West Country next year.

Todd Blackadder is keen to add strike power to his backline and Earle’s name is at the top of a list of players that he would like to take to the Rec.

But he could face competition from Harlequins who are in the market to replace England star Marland Yarde who joined Sale Sharks last week on a three-year deal.

Quins have also been keeping tabs on developments but Bath are currently the front runners to secure Earle’s signature if he decides to end his time in the capital.
