TYNEDALE held on to beat Macclesfield in a tryladen thriller at Priory Park.

Eleven tries were scored in a remarkable contest, Dale and Macc totally dominating the first and second halves respectively.

Jamie Blamire got the opener on 15 minutes after a sharp Matty Outson break, Guy Pike soon sniping home in the right corner for 10-0.

Dale wrapped up a seventh try bonus point of the season by the halfhour mark.

Rob Parker dotted down from his own grubber before Oli Walker crossed. Skipper Outson set up Dan Taylor for a simple fifth and also laid on a try for Mills.

Giles Heagearty’s Blues have only claimed one win in their last eight but showed stunning resolve after the break.

The Macc pack heaved Ryan Parkinson over to make it 38-7 after a string of penalties and the No.8 scored his second from a lineout on 56 minutes.

The sin-binning of visiting prop Richie Elliott for collapsing the scrum was shortly followed by a penalty try.

A converted Myles Hall try cut the lead to ten, before Frankie Barker crossed, his namesake Lewis notching the conversion to take the hosts within three, but Tynedale held on to tighten their grip on third.
