- ■ By JAMIE FORTUNE

SAM Hampson scored two of Worthing’s six tries as they eased to a comfortable win over Broadstreet.

Jack Lake scored the first before Hampson’s tries either side of Broadstreet’s Christopher Idehen going over, with the boot of Mathew McLean extending the hosts’ lead.

Jack Maslen went over for Worthing after the break before Nicholas Thatcher scored Broadstreet’s second try.

Jack Forrest and William Gearing-Grief scored Worthing’s final tries in the closing moments.

Lake scored after four minutes before McLean scored the first of his four conversions, but missed ten minutes later following Hampson’s first try.

Idehen’s try, converted by Clifford Hodgson, brought Broadstreet back into the game but Hampson scored his second with 30 minutes played as McLean kicked the extras.

McLean scored his first penalty just before the break to make it 22-7 to the hosts.

Midway through the second half, Maslen raced clear for Worthing’s fourth try, securing the bonus point.

Broadstreet’s Thatcher forced himself over as Hodgson again converted to make it 27-14 but McLean kicked another penalty.

Forrest’s pace helped see him go over for Worthing’s fifth score but there was still time for a final try, as replacement Gearing-Grief completed the scoring.
