Boot of New­ton keeps Tring at the top

TRING re­main at the top of the ta­ble af­ter beat­ing Guild­ford 31-6 at Cow Lane.

De­spite the score­line only one try was scored, Ben Crid­dle for the home side con­verted by Ben New­ton, who also slot­ted eight penal­ties, Gaz Davies kick­ing two for the vis­i­tors.

Sec­ond place Barnes ran out 51-10 win­ners away at West­combe Park, Dan Fox was the Park try scorer, con­verted by Miki Zani­rato, who also added a penalty. Barnes crossed for a to­tal of five tries, with four con­ver­sions and two penal­ties. Third-place Hert­ford had the bet­ter of Dork­ing 31-7 at High­fields. James Kings­ley, Dan Bel­ton, Tor­ran Mc­Dou­gal, Michael Ser­gent and Jack Mitchell were the try scor­ers with Sean Tay­lor suc­cess­ful with three con­ver­sions.

Tom Hunt crossed for the vis­i­tors con­verted by Matt No­ble. Guernsey thrashed Shelford 52-0 at Foote's Lane.

There was a hat-trick for Doug Hor­rocks with Dale Martin in for two. Other scor­ers in the eight try to­tal were Robin Le Cocq, Cameron Caine and Chris Ahne. Sam White­head was suc­cess­ful with six con­ver­sions.

It was close run at Rugby Lane where Sut­ton

and Ep­som edged it 27-24 at home to Sid­cup. Andy Mathews, Ste­fan Cook­sammy and Matt Whit­tacker all crossed, with Ja­cob Knight con­vert­ing all three and land­ing two penal­ties.

Luke Cough­lan (2), Char­lie Hop­kins and Louis Kee­ley were the Sid­cup try scor­ers with Josh Twyford con­vert­ing two to guar­an­tee the vis­i­tors two bonus points.

Im­prove­ment con­tin­ues for Southend Sax­ons who ran out 17-12 vic­tors away at Tun­bridge Wells. Dan Read and Tony Spran­glers crossed for the away side, both con­verted by Adam Dob­son who also slot­ted a penalty.

Chas Spence and Luke Hawkins went over for the home side with Ryan Tay­lor-Den­nehy suc­cess­ful with one con­ver­sion. West­cliff beat bot­tom of the ta­ble Towces­tri­ans 2242 at Towces­ter Road.

Joe Van Der­mole and Euan Bin­ner­man both went over for two with Jor­dan Fen­ton and Harry Branch the other try scor­ers, all were con­verted by Jack Jones.
