Boot of Newton keeps Tring at the top
TRING remain at the top of the table after beating Guildford 31-6 at Cow Lane.
Despite the scoreline only one try was scored, Ben Criddle for the home side converted by Ben Newton, who also slotted eight penalties, Gaz Davies kicking two for the visitors.
Second place Barnes ran out 51-10 winners away at Westcombe Park, Dan Fox was the Park try scorer, converted by Miki Zanirato, who also added a penalty. Barnes crossed for a total of five tries, with four conversions and two penalties. Third-place Hertford had the better of Dorking 31-7 at Highfields. James Kingsley, Dan Belton, Torran McDougal, Michael Sergent and Jack Mitchell were the try scorers with Sean Taylor successful with three conversions.
Tom Hunt crossed for the visitors converted by Matt Noble. Guernsey thrashed Shelford 52-0 at Foote's Lane.
There was a hat-trick for Doug Horrocks with Dale Martin in for two. Other scorers in the eight try total were Robin Le Cocq, Cameron Caine and Chris Ahne. Sam Whitehead was successful with six conversions.
It was close run at Rugby Lane where Sutton
and Epsom edged it 27-24 at home to Sidcup. Andy Mathews, Stefan Cooksammy and Matt Whittacker all crossed, with Jacob Knight converting all three and landing two penalties.
Luke Coughlan (2), Charlie Hopkins and Louis Keeley were the Sidcup try scorers with Josh Twyford converting two to guarantee the visitors two bonus points.
Improvement continues for Southend Saxons who ran out 17-12 victors away at Tunbridge Wells. Dan Read and Tony Spranglers crossed for the away side, both converted by Adam Dobson who also slotted a penalty.
Chas Spence and Luke Hawkins went over for the home side with Ryan Taylor-Dennehy successful with one conversion. Westcliff beat bottom of the table Towcestrians 2242 at Towcester Road.
Joe Van Dermole and Euan Binnerman both went over for two with Jordan Fenton and Harry Branch the other try scorers, all were converted by Jack Jones.
