Cardiff ............ 18 Bargoed .......... 10
CARDIFF recorded a hardearned victory over a dogged Bargoed at the Arms Park to chalk-up their sixth league win of the season.
The visitors, currently bottom of the Premiership table, began the game on the front foot but it was the home side who opened the scoring with Luke Fish slotting a penalty.
Cardiff extended their advantage soon after with centre Will Rees-Hole benefiting from some poor Bargoed defending to cross.
Bargoed fought back with a try of their own on the half-hour mark with forward Ieuan Jones barging over from close range.
The first points of the second-half went the way of Bargoed with Lewis slotting a penalty to take his side into the lead.
Will Rees-Hole crossed again in the right-hand corner to make the score 15-10 after a fine touchline conversion from replacement James Dixon.
With minutes left on the clock, the home side finally made the game safe with a penalty from Dixon.
Bargoed still had the chance to salvage something but Lewis missed a late penalty. Star man Miles Normandale - Cardiff
