Allen helps fire Hertford top of the table

HERTFORD leapfrogge­d Southend Saxons to go top of the table with a convincing 36-17 victory.

Michael Allen dotted down twice, Jack Elston and Sean Taylor, who also kicked four conversion­s and a penalty, were the other try scorers for the visitors with George Woods, and Bert Radzeviciu­s over for the Saxons, both converted by Adam

Dobson who also kicked a penalty.

Guernsey move up to second after a 22-16 victory away at Barnes. Nick Merrien, Luke Sayer and Leyton Baines were the islanders try scorers two of which were converted. Matt Cormack crossed for the home side converted by Charlie Wicks who also landed two penalties.

Tring slip back to fourth going down 30-16 away to Shelford. Mike Gillick and Simon Hrbek went in for two apiece with Lewis Cracknell nailing two conversion­s and two penalties. Max Richardson went over twice for the visitors with Tom Newton on the mark with two penalties.

Dorking were 52-0 winners at home to

Westcombe Park. Mike Terelak led the charge with a hat-trick, Ollie Rathbone ran in two with Matt Noble, Tom Hunt and Jasper King in for one each. Noble also landed five conversion­s and Fraser McDonald one. Tunbridge Wells proved too strong for

Sidcup beating the home side 48-21 at Crescent Farm. Christian Earl, Nick Dockerty and Taylor Donnehy all went over for two with Dave Allen in for one, Frank Reynolds was on target with five conversion­s and a penalty.

Luke Coughlan, James Poland and Charlie Hopkins were try scorers for the home side with Josh Twyford adding on a conversion and three well-taken penalties.

Jack Jones and Jim Smith helped lead the charge for Westcliff as they ran out 54-24 winners at home to Sutton and Epsom.

Euan Binnerman, Jake Spivey, Rupert Edwards and Ross Merrick went over, Jones kicking seven conversion­s. Jamie See went over twice for the visitors as Jacob Knight and Andy Matthews also crossed the whitewash.

Elsewhere, Guildford and TowCestria­ns battled away for a 38-38 draw.
