Yobo’s try double helps champions to first win

CHAMPIONS Stade Francais gained revenge some over Krasny Yar, 39-24, after the Russian outfit had shocked Greg Cooper’s men in round one.

Shane Geraghty gave the Parisians the lead, but Lasha Malaguradz­e kept the scoreboard ticking for Krasny with three penalties and a drop-goal.

Jimmy Yobo’s try-double gave Stade the upper hand but Krasny upped the intensity in the second half as Giorgi Pruidze touched down.

However tries from Siegfried Fisiihoi, Romain Martial and Julien Arias duly secured Stade’s first win of the competitio­n.

Pau secured a third successive victory to put themselves in control of Pool 3 following a 40-21 triumph over Agen.

Toulouse moved one point behind pool leaders Cardiff Blues as they beat 14-man Lyon 30-23. They led 20-6 thanks to a try double from Wandile Mjekevu before Lyon winger Timilai Rokoduru was red carded for a noarms tackle. Yoann Huget and Sofiane Guitoune crossed in the second half.

In the late game last night Connacht won 38-31 at Brive with Jack Carty weighing in with 23 points.
