Nico is double trouble as Cheetahs roar in

-

NICO LEE backed up last week’s hat-trick by scoring two tries as the Cheetahs claimed a bonus-point win to complete the double over the Kings.

Despite the Kings scoring the first try in the 11th minute through Luzuko Vulindlu, the Cheetahs recovered to dot down thjree times in each half.

Dynamic flank Andisa Ntsila impressed and sparked the opening try when he offloaded to Vulindlu for centre Lee to barg over.

With fly-half Fred Zeilinga on target with the boot, the Cheetahs established a 24-14 lead through further tries by Bok loose forward Uzair Cassiem and Lee.

Those touchdowns came either side of a welcome seven-pointer for the Kings when loosehead Schalk Ferreira finished off from a break by Martin du Toit.

Full-back Ntabeni Dukisa slotted a penalty just before halftime to put the Port Elizabeth side within reach at 24-17.

But the try of the match came five minutes into the second half when skilful Cheetahs No.15 Clayton Blommetjies chipped through for prop Ox Nche to touch down.

Despite losing wing Craig Barry to a yellow card for taking out Yaw Penxe in the air, Cheetahs scored two further tries.

One came from Mapimpi, who out-raced two Kings players and grubbered the ball ahead to score his 10th try in 12 PRO14 games. Mapimpi will now join the Sharks for Super Rugby.

The Kings could only produce a consolation try by Tienie Burger.
