Brynmawr narrow the gap to just one point

BRYNMAWR closed the gap on One East leaders Brecon to three points after beating them 21-10.

Ebbw Vale star Dai Langdon donned the Brynmawr colours and showed his talent with a try, conversion and three penalties. Ryan Gardner grabbed the other try for Brynmawr.

Leaders Brecon hit back through an Adam Hoskins try, which was converted by Dean Gunter, and a Jake Newman penalty. In One East Central,

Ystrad Rhondda showed their title credential­s with a 16-13 victory over thirdplace­d Rhiwbina.

Corey Shephard kicked three penalties to add to a penalty try.

Second-placed Glamorgan Wanderers cut the lead at the top to one point with a 31-10 victory at Mountain Ash. Nant Conwy stretched their lead at the top of One North to 11 points after beating Dolgellau 14-9.

Caron Davies bagged all the points for Nant Conwy with three penalties and a try.

Dunvant remain on course to go back up to the National Championsh­ip at the first time of asking after seeing off Kidwelly 13-12 in One West.

Ben Ley and Adam Williams-Parry crashed over for the leaders with Sam Evans kicking a penalty.

Ricky Williams and Luke Thomas replied for reigning champions Kidwelly, who saw Gareth Rees add a conversion. Felinfoel are up to second after they beat Gowerton 34-18 while Gorseinon and Llangennec­h both lost. In One West Central, Maesteg Quins continue to lead the table following their 10-3 win at Bonymaen with Ben Davies going over for the game’s only try. Owen Howe kicked the rest while Lawrence Thomas bagged a consolatio­n penalty for Bonymaen. Elsewhere in the league, Tondu ran in nine tries to hammer Seven Sisters 51-7.
