Seven-try Steelmen still 17pts behind Pooler

TATA Steel were in irresistib­le form as they ran in seven tries to thrash basement boys Glynneath 41-5.

Ryan Davies landed a hat-trick of tries while Jacob Lewis, Geraint Watkins, Simon Evans and Dai Griggs all followed him over the whitewash.

Josh Morris bagged a consolatio­n try for Glynneath, who fell to their 12th league defeat of the season.

In injury time James Soames crashed over to level the score and Parry stepped up to kick the conversion and seal victory.

Struggling Skewen were well beaten 35-5 at Newbridge. Aiden Palmer bagged a brace with Lewis Hudd and Simon Veall joining him on the scoresheet. The rest of Newbridge’s points came from the boot of Eamonn Rees.

Trebanos made it three wins in a row with a 22-10 success over Cardiff Met.

Chris Forshaw, Tom Dew, Kieron Weightman and Matthew Edwards secured the bonus-point win.

Newcastle Emlyn got the better of Rhydyfelin to seal a 27-20 victory. Ashley Sutton, Teifion Davies and Alex Williams crashed over with Mitchell Jones kicking the rest for Emlyn.

In reply, Luke Waygood, Scott Pritchard and Corey Bushell touched down and David Gratton kicked a conversion and penalty.
