Lam’s lads close in on club record

-

BRISTOL could break a club-record winning streak if they overcome Jersey today.

Pat Lam’s men are targeting a 17th successive league victory, surpassing the record set in 2016.

Unbeaten Bristol – who are 13 points clear – make six changes from the side that defeated London Scottish, with Ian Madigan returning to the starting line-up.

The Ireland international is joined by Siale Piutau and Jordan Williams in the backline, while Sam Jeffries, Nick Haining and Jason Harris-Wright are recalled to the pack.

Lam said: “Each week, we face a different challenge and a well-coached Jersey side will be no different.

“Last time out against them, we were very good defensively and came away with a really good result, so we’ll aim to be on the job again and there’s five points on offer.”

Jersey will look to draw on a defensive record that has seen the fewest tries conceded (38) of any Championship club, but know this will be a formidable task against a team who are averaging 43 points per match.

Head coach Harvey Biljon is at least able to recall midfield duo Mark Best and Apakuki Ma’afu. There are five other changes to the XV from the 24-32 defeat to Ealing with Jake Woolmore, Nick Selway, Jake Armstrong, James Voss and Conor Joyce returning to the pack.
