Rennie delighted with his big men up front

- By GARY HEATLY

DAVE Rennie praised his forward pack after the Warriors made it two wins from two on Friday night.

The hosts led 22-0 at the break and while they failed to clinch the bonus point they were comfortable victors ahead of two away matches in South Africa.

Rennie said of his pack: “Our big men up front get a fair bit of criticism from the media, but we're really happy with the way they played. We’ve got a scrum that has been dominant for two weeks and the lineout drive is a weapon for us.”

Rennie said he had not seen a first half incident involving Warriors’ co-captain Callum Gibbins allegedly shoulder charging at a ruck.

The TMO did not either but Rennie’s Munster counterpart Johann van Graan felt it was a “turning point” in the match. Munster were not helped by injuries to skipper Billy Holland and No.9 Neil Cronin either.

Having missed an early penalty, Warriors centre Pete Horne made amends in the 14th minute to give his side the lead. Back row Gibbins scored in the corner ten minutes later before a lovely grubber kick from Adam Hastings put Stuart Hogg in.

Try number three came when No.8 Adam Ashe pounced on a defensive blunder, Hogg adding his second conversion for 22-0 at the interval.

Munster hit back with a JJ Hanrahan penalty and a try from hooker Rhys Marshall, but a Hogg penalty made it safe for Glasgow.
