Wimbledon on top after Bedford victory

WIMBLEDON top the table following a 36-20 win at home to Bedford Athletic.

Ben Turner, Campbell Musson with two, Keiron Morris. Rob Louw and Phil Chester were the home tryscorers with Freddie Hooper landing three conversion­s. David Simpson and Josh Cassell, twice, crossed for the visitors Leo Martin adding five points.

Sutton and Epsom slip back after losing 38-11 at home to newcomers

Chingford. Dave Ogufere with two tries led the charge for the visitors with Tunde Babajide and Scott Meakin, who also kicked four penalties and three conversion­s, the other try scorers. Andy Matthews was the sole try scorers for the home side. Westcliff move into second spot beating Hertford 42-10 at The Gables. Greg Bannister, Ben McKay, Charlie Brown, Bill Morant and Sam Brown were the home try-scorers with Jack Jones successful with three conversion­s and three penalties, McKay also landing one conversion.

Dorking were 24-15 victors away at Brentwood, Matt Noble recording a total of 19 points from two tries, three conversion­s and a penalty, Cam Osborne the other try scorer. Adam Thomas and Josh Stannard crossed for the home side with Brad Burr slotting one conversion and a penalty.

In a close game at The Davey Field, Tunbridge

Wells beat Shelford 34-27. Jack Harvey, Ben Peach and Shingai Chiwanga were the home try scorers all converted by Josh Simmons with Lewis Cracknell knocking over two penalties.

Sidcup were 31-25 winners away at Guildford. Dan Thomas, Max O'Leary, Luke Coughlin and Charlie Hopkins were the try-scorers for the visitors with Josh Twyford three penalties. Nick Brown with two, tom Jeffery and Tom Hickey all crossed for the home side with Kyle Brown adding a conversion and a penalty.

In the final game of the round, Tring beat CS Stags 45-24. Oliver O’Gorman, Sam Barnes, Jonathan Morgan, Ben Criddle, Oscar Nicholson-Potter and Nick Radley were the home try scorers with Jake Ollie contributi­ng five conversion­s. However, Stags did not go away empty-handed having picked up a four-try bonus point.
