Three wins on the spin for Bournemout­h

BOURNEMOUT­H made it three wins from three and sit in pole position in the South West Premier.

However, they found themselves 13-3 behind at

Weston-super-Mare in the first half before a fightback saw them run out 49-25 victors.

Grant Hancox hit back with a first try which he converted after 26 minutes before Weston again responded to take a 20-10 lead.

Two Hancox kicks brought them back to 20-16 at half-time. A minute after the break Dan Stewart gained the lead for Bournemout­h before Chris Jeffs scored a brace while Sam Hardcastle and Danny Kirkpatric­k also ran over.

Ivybridge also have a perfect record after bagging a 37-16 over league new boys Drybrook thanks to a hat-trick from Lewis Patterson.

George Wilson opened the scoring before Ivybridge were awarded a penalty try and then Patterson ran over three times and Ben Watts the other.

Exeter University are in third despite suffering their first defeat of the campaign after losing 31-24 at Exmouth. Maidenhead also picked up their second win of the campaign with a tightly fought 49-46 victory over Cleve.

Mike Davies and Max Roddick scored a pair of tries each for the hosts while Tom King, Ed Keohane and Dave Cole ran over the others. Kicker Keohane had a good day taking seven conversion­s.

Barnstaple are also picking up form which they showed with a 45-5 victory over Bracknell in a game they dominated from the outset.

Winston James ran over a couple of early tries while kicker Jack Murphy, Ryan Carter, Will Tops, Ashlee Crouch and Troy Willis crossed before a late Chris Laider consolatio­n try.

Camborne saw a healthy lead vanish before fighting to a tight 38-37 victory over Newton Abbot.

Alex Ducker scored a hat-trick of tries in the opening 13 minutes to give Camborne a 19-0 lead but Newton Abbot responded with 27 points with no reply just after the break.

Ducker replied with two further tries and Lewis Thomas the other. In the day’s other game,

Brixham took a 40-13 victory away to Old Patesians.
